“What would you do if you see a homeless person getting robbed right in front of your face?”
This is a question the Model Pranksters asked in one of their latest videos.
The team went to New York City and had a social experiment to see how people will really react. One of their team members acted as the homeless guy while the rest of the group took turns becoming thieves.

The first “thief” was the girl and, as you will see on this clip, most people simply stood by and watched her walk away with the money. In more than an hour, there was only one man who had the courage to stop her.
The second half of the video shows us the rest of the guys switching roles as thieves and fortunately, we see more reactions to the act. The first man repeatedly exclaimed “Put that back right now!” after seeing the crook took the money from the homeless guy’s can. Others called the thief’s attention out loud while some even managed to stop the running thief.
At those points, the team revealed (a bit quickly, at that) that they are simply filming a social experiment, commending the “heroes” for doing a good job, even telling some of them that “We need more people like you.”
While it is definitely nice to see that some good people stood up for a poor homeless dude, it’s still kinda heartbreaking that many chose to “look the other way” when the crime was done by a girl. That tells a lot about our society right now and that’s just so sad.
Hopefully, this video managed to deliver its main message: If you see something, say something.
