Teenage pregnancy is one of the most common issues in our society. Mothers become younger & younger every year. Though sex education is taught in many schools, the number of young mothers is still mounting up. The effective methods to resolve this matter are still unknown. Some may say that parental guidance has the biggest impact, but let's admit it, parents cannot control & supervise their kids round the clock. And in that situation teenagers are left to make unwise decisions.

Meet Alfie Patten, 13 years old, a 4 feet tall kid who was supposed to be the father of a child of Chantelle Steadman his 15-year old girlfriend. The young couple was said to have one unprotected encounter Alfie’s' father said "My son could not fathom the enormity of the birth.” This is definitely right! When both found out that Chantelle was pregnant, Alfie was so scared that they will be in trouble but they decided not to abort it. Thumbs up to that! Alfie even said, "We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react. I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”

The worst thing was, when this issue was revealed, 7 boys confessed that they might be the possible father of Chantelle's baby after having slept with her. Alfie was distressed after knowing this and he refused to believe it. To end the speculation Alfie & the other seven boys agreed to undergo a DNA test. The result came out & revealed that Alfie wasn't the real father. It was Tyler Barker a 14 year old kid. To his dismay Alfie customized a statement hoodie that says “I’M THE DADDY. IF I’M NOT, F**K YOU ALL, I’LL STILL BE THERE”

Watch the video below of Alfie's short interview.

The circumstances that Alfie and Chantelle can possibly happen to anyone in the world, especiallywhen there isn't proper guidance from the parents. Young as they are, they have not understood yet the responsibilities of being parents because they themselves are still children. They are supposed to play & enjoy, but because of their aggressiveness, their childhood is stolen.
This may serve as an eye opener to both parents and children. For parents to be more patient & careful in bringing up your children because after all there isn't a perfect parenting and for kids to enjoy being a child and not rush to be adults. Yes, we are the captain of our souls, but we should remember, WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.
